RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
DESIGNATING THE-TOWN OF LOS GATOS AS
"TREE CITY USA"
WHEREAS, The Town of Los Gatos has been named a Tree City USA by the
National Arbor .Day .Foundation;
WHEREAS, This is the twenty-second year the Town of Los Gatos has :received this
national recognition;
WHEREAS, The Tree City USA Program is sponsored by the National Arbor
Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA
Forest Service;
WHEREAS, To become a Tree 'City USA, a community must meet four
standards: a tree board or .department, a tree care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry
program and an Arbor Day observance;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
The Town of Los Gatos is recognized for demonstrating commitment to an effective, ongoing
community forestry program. The Town of Los Gatos renews its commitment
to urban forestry efforts..
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of
Los Gatos held on the .15th day of April, 2002 by the following vote:
