RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
WAIVING RIGHT TO JUVENILE ACCOUNTABILI'T'Y INCENTIVE .BLOCK GRANT
PROGRAM SUBGRANT AWARD, AUTHORIZING THE FUNDS TO BE EXPENDED
BY THE COUNTY OF SANTA CLARA, AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER
TO EXECUTE. SAID WAIVER FOR SUBGRANT :AWARD FOR FUTURE YEARS
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos declines to directly accept funds made
available through the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant (JAIBG) Program
administered by the Office of Criminal Justice Planning (OCJP);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT TESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, County of Santa Clara, .State of California, that the Town of Los Gatos
waives its right to its entire direct subgrant award, authorizes the funds to be expended
by the County of Santa Clara for the .mutual benefit of both units of local government,
and authorizes the Town Manager to execute .said waiver for subgrant award for future
years;
IT IS AGREED that any liability arising out of the performance of this Grant
Award Agreement, including civil court actions for damages, shall be the responsibility
of the grant recipient and authorizing agency. The State of California and OCJP
disclaim responsibility for any such liability.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not
be used to supplant expenditures controlled by this body
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 6t" day of May , 2002 by the following vote:
