RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO ACCEPT FUNDS FROM THE OFFICE
OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING/CALIFORNIA LAW ENFORCEIVIENT
TECHNOLOGY EQiJIPMENT PURCHASE PROGRAM FOR THE LOS
GATOS/MONTE SERENO POLICE DEPARTMENT TO 'PURCHASE PATROL CAR
SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS/RECORDERS
WHEREAS, the Office of Criminal Justice Planning/California Technology Equipment
Purchase Program has awarded the Town of Los Gatos an equipment purchase grant; :and,
WHEREAS, the grant application specified the grant funds would be used to purchase eight
patrol car surveillance cameras/recorders; .and,
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos is entitled to receive approximately $39,836,00 under
the terms of the Office of Criminal Justice Planning/California Law Enforcement Technology
Equipment .Purchase program if specified requirements are met; and,
WHEREAS, the OJCP/CLETEP funding cannot be used to duplicate or overlap ongoing
projects whose costs are currently funded with Federal funds; ..and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has considered the written request separate and .apart from
the. allocation of :general funds for police programs;
'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Los. Gatos;
County ofSanta Clara, State of California, that the Town Manager is authorized to accept funds for
the Office of Criminal Justice Planning/California Law Enforcement Technology Equipment
program to purchase eight car surveillance cameras/recorders.
PASSED AND .ADOPTED at a regular meeting ofthe Town Council of the Town of Los
Gatos; California, .held on the St'' day of June, 2000 by the following vote.:
