RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AUTHORIZING'TI-IE
TOWN MANAGER TO .EXECUTE A PURCHASE AND LICENSE
AGREEMENT .FOR UPGRADE OF LIBRARY AUTOMATION SYSTEM BY
AND BETWEEN THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AND EPIXTECH, INC.
WHEREAS, the Town desires to upgrade its automated library system
originally installed in 1993; and
WHEREAS, the Council allocated $210,000 to fund the library system
upgrade in the Town's Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2000-0 L; and
WHEREAS, staff prepared arequest -for proposal identifying requirements
of an upgraded library system ;and
WHEREAS, staff has recommended remaining with the vendor epixtech, :inc.
and upgrading to their client-server software; .Horizon; and
WHEREAS, the Town has solicited competitive bids from qualified vendors
to provide peripherals for the system upgrade;. and
WHEREAS, epixtech, inc. was the low bid for the peripheral equipment.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, County of Santa Clara, State of California, hereby authorizes the Town
Manager to execute a Purchase and License Agreement for upgrade of the library
.automation system by and between the Town of Los Gatos and epixtech, inc.
PASSED .AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos, California, .held on the 17th day of July, 2000 by the following
vote:
