RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
COMMENDING
MARCIA JENSEN FOR HER. SERVICE TO THE TOWN AS A MEMBER
OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Marcia Jensen was appointed to the Planning Commission and .has
faithfully erved from Apri124, 1989 through March 15, 1999 as a Commissioner, which has
brought distinction to herself .and credit to the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, she has .given her time unsparingly and .lent her considerable intellect to
advance the planning process within the Town; and
WHEREAS, during her tenure, Marcia served on the General .Plan Committee and
Architectural Standards/Hillside Committee, and
WHEREAS, during her tenure, Marcia assisted the Planning Commission in major
studies and projects for General Plan and .Zoning Ordinance :amendments including Housing.
Element, Route $5, Traffic Policy Revisions, Floor Area Ratio in Residential Zones, Second
Story Additions,. Mobile Horne Park Conversion, Grading Regulations, Tree Protection
Regulations, Secondary Units, Residential Mobile Home Zone, Blossom Hill Open Space Study,
Noise Ordinance, Los Gatos :Boulevard Charrette/Plan and Design Guidelines, Downtown
Streetscape Plan and;
Major applications for West Valley Open Doors, Downtown Parking Lots ..and .Structures,
Vasona Heights, Old Town Renovation, Calvary Church Expansion and Master Plan, Toll House
'Hotel Expansion, Kennedy Meadows Planned Development, Surninerhill Development, and Larlc
Avenue, The Dome, 71 Miles Avenue, Cornerstone; and
WHEREAS, Marcia. used her sl~ills as a federal prosecutor to elicit independent
testimony .and .formulate clear and persuasive findings. to ensure that the Commission made wise
choices to preserve and enhance the quality of life in the Town; and
WHEREAS, Marcia's well-reasoned decisions advanced 11er vision for Los Gatos as a
community that provides an excellent quality of life for all its residents, and
WHEREAS, Marcia's venerable leadership skills, decorum :(and fashion sense) as Vice
Chair from February 23, 1994 to February 8, 1995 and as Chair from .February 8, 1'995 to
March 12, 1997 enhanced the role of the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS., in all of the above endeavors, Marcia has shown unselfish public service for
the protection of community values.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
.does hereby render, with special appreciation, commendation and tlzanlcs to Marcia Jensen.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of
Los Gatos, California held on the 6cn day of July, 1999, by the following vote:
