AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE AkRTE.XATION OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED "NATIONAL AVENUE
NUMBER ONE ANNEXATION" TO THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS.
THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS :
WHEREAS, on the 2nd day of March., 1959, the Council
of the Town of Los Gatos did pass and adopt a Resolution giving
notice of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to T

the--Town of Los Gatos, said. territory being therein designated as s
".National Avenue Number One Annexation", and said action being taken
by the Council of said Town as the legislative body of the Town
pursuant to a written petition therefore said Resolution
describing the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be
annexed to said Town; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution did contain a notice of the day,
hour and place when and where the said Council of said Town would
hear protests made by any person owning real property within the
territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hearing being
not less than twenty nor more than sixty days from the :ate of
the passage of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of April, 1959, at the hour
of 8:00 o'clock p.m. In the Los Gatos Town Council Chambers in
the Tovz Hall of the Town of Los Gatos, County of Santa Clara,
State of California, said time and place being the day, hour and _
place fixed in said. Resolution for hearing protests to said annexa-
tion, the said Council of said Town did hear and pass upon all
protests made to said proposed annexation and did determine that
no protests to said proposed annexation have been made by or on behalf of
the owners of one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be
annexed as shown by the last eq?a.lized roll, nor by public and.

private owners of equal to one-half of the value of the territory
proposed to be annexed as determined by said legislative body, and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the Town of
Los Gatos, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Santa
Clara., and all of the procedural requirements of the annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, particularly Government
Code Sections 35300 to 35314 inclusive have been fully complied
with;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the Town of Los
Gatos does hereby approve the annexation of said territory,
hereinafter described, to the Town of Los Gatos and does hereby
further ordain that the said territory be and is hereby annexed
to the Town of Los Gatos,
That said territory, the annexation of which to the
Town of L=os Gatos is hereby approved, is all that territory
situate in the County of Santa Clara, State of California, more
particularly described as follows;
Beginning on the Northerly line of the Town Limits,
Town of Los Gatos, at the point of intersection with the
northerly prolongation of the easterly line of Tract No. 1168, El
Gato Terrace, the Map of which was filed for record in the
office of the Recorder of the County of Santa Clara, State of
California on March 2, 1954 in Book 48 of Haps, at Page 13,
records of said County, said point of beginning being also a point
on the Northerly line of the Los Gatos-Almaden Road,-as shown
upon that certain map entitled IINational Tract", which map was
filed for record in the Office of the Recorder of the County of
Santa Clara, State of California, on January l6, 1891, in Book "E"
of Maps, Page 67; thence Easterly along the Northerly line of
said Los Gatos-Almaden Road and along the Town Limits line of the
Town of Los Gatos to the point of intersection with the Easterly
line of Lot 10, as said Lot is shown u--on the hereir_before.
mentioned map of the National Tract, said point of intersection
being also a point in the Westerly City Limits line of the City
of San Jose; thence following the various courses and distances
of the City Limits line of the City of San Jose Northerly,
and
Northwesterly,/northerly to the point of intersection with the
center line of Carlton Avenue as referred to in the City of San
Jose Ordinance No. 4919; thence continuing along the City Limits
line of the City of San Jose Westerly, Southerly and Westerly
to the point of intersection with the Easterly line of National
Avenue, as the same now exists; thence Southerly along said
Easterly line of National Avenue to the point of intersection with
the Northerly line of said hereinbefore mentioned Los Gatos-
Almaden Road; thence Easterly along said Northerly line of said
Los Gatos-Almaden Road to the point of beginning.

of the Town of Los Gatos, State of California, on the 20th
day of 1959
