ADOPT RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER/
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE A DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
AGREEMENT WITH SAN JOSE WATER COMPANY TO PROVIDE
WATER SERVICE TO THE NEW LOS GATOS/MONTE SERENO POLICE
OPERATIONS BUILDING IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $59,485.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt resolution (Attachment 1) authorizing the Town Manager/Executive Director to execute
a design and construction agreement (Exhibit A) with San Jose Water Company to provide water
service to the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Operations Building in an amount not to exceed
$59,485.
BACKGROUND:
The construction of the new Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Operations Building has been under
way since January and work is progressing on several phases of the project simultaneously.
Prior to the Town purchasing the property from Verizon, all utility services were disconnected
and taken out of service.

DISCI iSSTON-
The Town has been working with San Jose Water Company over the past few months to obtain
new water service connection to the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Operations Building. This
water service will be needed for both domestic usage and fire protection service.
The cost for design and construction of new water service to the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police
Operations Building by San Jose Water Company is $59,485. It is standard process for San Jose
Water Company to enter into an agreement with the property owner for such water service
requests.
CONCLUSION:
It is recommended that the Town Council/Redevelopment Agency adopt the attached Resolution
authorizing the Town Manager/Executive Director to execute an Agreement with San Jose Water
Company to provide design and construction for water services for the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno
Police Operations Building Facility project.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
This project is Categorically Exempt pursuant to Sections 15301 (c), and 15303 (e), and 15304
(b) of the State CEQA guidelines.

RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGERIEXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
TO EXECUTE A PROFESSIONAL DESIGN AND CONSTCRUTION SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH SAN JOSE WATER COMPANY
TO PROVIDE WATER SERVICES FOR
PPW JOB NO. 07-22 - LOS GATOS/MONTE SERENO POLICE
OPERATIONS BUILDING FACILITYPROJECT
WHEREAS, the 2008-09 Capital Improvement Program budget includes funding
for the for PPW Job No.07-22 Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Operations Building Project; and
WHEREAS, water service is needed for both domestic and fire usage for this
project; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Town Council/Redevelopment Agency to
secure the services of San Jose Water Company to provide design and construction service for
the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Operations Building Facility Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town
Council/Redevelopment Agency of the Town of Los Gatos hereby approves the attached
Agreement (Exhibit A) with San Jose Water Company to provide design and construction
services in connection with the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Operations Building Facility
Project in an amount not to exceed $59,485.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Manager/Executive Director is
hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement on behalf of the Town
Council/Redevelopment Agency.
