DISCUSSION:
The Council indicated an interest in the floor area of nearby neighborhood and destination retail
businesses. The following is offered as background information:
• Safeway/Union - 45,000 SF
• Borders Books/Downtown: 15,334 SF
• Lunardi's Grocery/LG Boulevard: 23,692 SF
• Office Depot/LG Boulevard: 28,000 SF
• Lwiardi's: 23,900 SF
• Whole Foods: 21,800 SF
• Fry's (Campbell): 156,573 SF
• Costco/Ahnaden: 141,000 SF
(Average floor area ranges for Costco: 70,000 - 205,000 (includes tire center, gas service
station and warehouse)
• Best Buy/Almaden: 40,000 Approx. SFT
(Average floor area for Best Buy: 20,000 - 45,000)
• Target/ Oalcridge Mall: 150,000 SF
