This is a way to bring in an eatery and then make it also a bar. -One of his main points in making a case for Main Street Burger was that he would employ young people, make a place for young people to eat and hang out. Serving liquor is counter to the intention and the goal of making safe places for young people to work and socialize in Los Gatos. -This would make a line up of alcohol serving establishments close to the Broadway neighborhood (including Willow Street and #1 Broadway). Children and families live on Broadway, in fact in the first houses on the street. -We already have a problem with outdoor drinking noise, particularly from #1 Broadway. In the summertime, patrons stand on the balcony and yell to people on the street. #1 Broadway was supposed to be a quiet neighborhood pub, when it was established and we were content to allow such a place on our corner. Similar noise occurs occasionally from Mt. Charlie's and from the Toll House courtyard, which also agreed not to have outdoor events and occasionally do. Drinkers park on Broadway at night, go drinking, and return to their cars in a noisy manner, yelling their goodbye's, revving up their engines, leaving behind cups and so forth in the parkways. Sometimes the noise is so loud that I cannot hear my tv inside the house with the windows closed! -There continues to be inadequate parking for Willow Street, and for the whole of Lyndon Plaza. Broadway was not supposed to be a parking lot, yet workers from Willow Street continue to park on this street, and come out every two hours to move their cars. Adding a bar feature to Main Street Burgers could attract people looking for yet another bar, and parking further up the street, adding to the problem. -Mr. Rothmann sometimes gets approval for things, then changes the plan without further discussion and approval for the change. (ie: he was From: Gail Randolph 42 Broadway Los Gatos, CA 95030 June 18, 2007 (6/18/2007) Lynda Seastrom U 07 142 Page 2 going to put in an iron arch at the entrance of the outdoor seating area of Willow Street. The plan was attractive, but he didn't put in that approved ironwork. I would like to see him be upfront and consistent with his plans and approvals. -There is a sort of "consortium",of bar owners who coordinate events such as St. Patrick's Day and Mardi Gras, of which Mr. Rothmann and Willow Street are a part. This, no doubt, would add yet another bar to the activity of going out drinking to celebrate these and other occasions. Thank you for your considerations. Again, no more serving of alcohol on our corner. Sincerely, Gail Randolph
