SUBJECT: APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND COMMITTEES
RECOMMENDATION:
1. Conduct appointment process for: Arts Commission, ArtSelection Panel, Community
Services Commission, General Plan Committee, Historic Preservation Committee, Library
Board; Parks Commission, Personnel Board, Planning Commission, Rent Advisory
Committee, and Transportation and Parking Commission.
2. Direct Clerk Administrator to re-advertise any vacant positions following the appointments
on December 18, 2006.
BACKROUND:
On November 28, 2006, Council conducted interviews for vacant Board, Commission, and
Committee positions. Council directed staff to schedule a subsequent interview on December 18,
2006, prior to the. Council meeting for applicants that could not attend the interviews held on
November 28, 2006. The following applicants have been confirmed for the December 18, 2006
interviews:
• Barbara Cardillo, Community Services Commission
• Lyn Dougherty, Library Board
• Richard Anderson, Transportation and Parking Commission
Council directed staff to re-advertise for the Rent Advisory Committee and Personnel.Board as
there were an insufficient number of applications received.

DISCUSSION:
The attached list reflects the names of.applicants and the number of vacant Board, Commission
and Committee positions. Council may also direct the Clerk Administrator to re-advertise any
vacant positions following the appointments on December 18, 2006.
CONCLUSION:
It is recommended that Council appoint applicants to fill vacant Town Boards, Commissions,
and Committees, and direct Clerk Administrator to re-advertise any vacant positions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended action.
