SUBJECT: ADOPT COUNCIL COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS EFFECTIVE

RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Council Committee Appointments effective January 2006.
DISCUSSION:
Mayor Diane McNutt has appointed Council Members to Town boards and committees and various
regional commissions, boards, and committees as shown on the attached Council Committee
Appointment Roster (Attachment No. 1).
Also attached is a list of Council Ad Hoc Committee Assignments as of December 13, 2005
(Attachment No. 2). As Council is aware, ad hoc committee assignments are made with the
concurrence of the Town Council. Assigned ad hoc committee members serve as Council "liaisons"
to provide guidance and feedback on projects and/or events that may have a significant impact on
the community. Although ad hoc assignments are expected to sunset once the proj ect/event has been
completed; assignments may be changed or added during the course of the year depending on
specific needs or issues.

updated to reflect the appropriate contact information and meeting time and place. Staff will
work with the Council Committee appointees as needed to assist them with committee
assignments.

GOVERNMENTS - GENERAL ASSEMBLY

The Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG)
- General Assembly is a regional agency that
represents 9 Bay Area Counties and all cities within
those Counties. Membership is voluntary and Town
is a member. The ABAG - General Assembly
determines the fair share housing allocations to
each city and county as required by the State.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Town Conceptual Development Advisory
Committee advises prospective applicants of
whether projects are consistent with Town policy
prior to initiating the development review process.
The committee also identifies and lists problems
with the proposal that need to be addressed in the

The Flood Control Zone Advisory Committee of the
Santa Clara Valley Water District is comprised of
representatives of each city within the watershed,
the County, and unincorporated areas. The duties
of the committee include reviewing and making
recommendations to the Water District Board of

following:
- Existing District flood control policies,
- Flood control project activities;
- Flood control project priority schedules,-
- Flood control budgets; and
- Alternative financing for flood control activities

The Council Committee is composed of city council
representatives of the eight participating non-
entitlement cities and one member of the Board of
Supervisors who is the chairperson. The Council
Committee makes policy recommendations to the
Board of Supervisors on the planning, monitoring
and evaluation of the HCD Program and the
development of a comprehensive, coordinated
housing and community development plan.

The League of California Cities is a State-wide
organization that represents the member cities,
holds conferences, provides training sessions, and
lobbies the legislature. The League Peninsula
