DISCUSSION:
Attached is a letter from Friends of Los Gatos Public Library advising the Town on their $5,000
donation to the Library. The Friends letter also comments on the Town's annual budget.

BOUND LOS GATANS. book she wanted was not obtainable at Los Gatos Library, however when checking at the
Saratoga Library she learned there were 15 copies of the desired book available with15
patrons on the reserve list and a wait of only three days.
We are saddened to see entire shelves in the new book section empty, and by the fact that
the 60% increase in circulation of the past four years is now dwindling due to our lack of
hard copy and electronic materials.
Friends of the Library appreciate and understand the difficult job facing the Council in
prioritizing needs and balancing the budget, and we thank you for the time and commitment
you give to the community. We hope the library's collection and full operating budget can
be restored in the near future.
