IN LOS GATOS RECOMMENDAnON: Adopt resolution accepting $100,000 of funds allocated to the City of Monte Sereno from the Per Capita Program under the Safe Neighborhood, Clean Water, Clean Air and Coastal Protection Bond Act ofi 2002 for the construction ofthe proposed skateboard park on Miles Ave. in Los Gatos. 􀁂􀁁􀁃􀁋􀁇􀁒􀁏􀁉􀁊􀁬􀀧􀁾􀁊 􀁄􀀺􀀭􀀭􀀭􀀭􀀭􀀭􀀭􀀭 On November 1,2004, the Town COlillcil adopted a resolution approving the application for grant funds for the State Urban Parks and Healthy Communities Program under the California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks, and Coastal Protection Act of2002 for the construction of a skateboard park on the Town-owned parking lot on Miles Ave. The grant request was for $709,875 out ofthe total project costs of$946,500. The remaining portion oftotal costs, $236,625, comprises the matching funds required for the project. Included in the matching ftmds is $125,000 from the Town's Proposition 12 Per Capita Funds and $100,000 from the City of Monte Sereno's Proposition 40 Per Capita Funds. The grant application included a letter from Monte Sereno City Manager, Brian Loventhal, stating his intention to recommend to the Monte Sereno City Council that the City of Monte Sereno contribute these funds for the construction of the skateboard park. IN LOS GATOS (November 24,2004) DISCUSSION: On November 16, 2004, the Monte Sereno City Council adopted a resolution (Exhibit A) passing to Los Gatos $100,000 of funds allocated to the City of Monte Sereno from Proposition 40 Per Capita funds. The resolution being considered for adoption by the Town Council on December 6th accepts this $100,000 contribution for the skateboard park. If Council adopts the resolution, staff will forward it to the State Department ofParks and Recreation to be included as part ofthe Town's grant application. ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT: Is not a project defined under CEQA, and no further action is required. FISCAL IMPACT: This allocation of $100,000 from the City of Monte Sereno is part of the match required for the Town's application to the State Urban Parks and Healthy Communities Program under the California Clean Water, Clean Air, Safe Neighborhood Parks, and Coastal ProtectionAct of2002. The Town's contribution to the match, $125,000, is designated in the FY 2004-05 Capital Improvement Budget, for which the Town will seek Proposition 12 Per Capita Funds. Attachments: 1.
