COLON CANCER FREE ZONE In February, the City of Monte Sereno sent a letter asking the Town to proclaim the month of March as "Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month" and to join them in becoming
a "Colon Cancer Free Zone." The Mayor had already issued a proclamation regarding "Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month" in January. .In addition to the proclamation already issued, the
Town has put information regarding colon cancer screening on What's New! and an article is included in the upcoming Spring Vista. Gay Crawford from the Colon Cancer Initiative Team of
the Amercian Cancer Society recently sent an e-mail to Council Member Wasserman thanking the Town for being the first to issue the proclamation and asking if the Town would continue
to consider becoming a "Colon Cancer Free Zone." The City of Saratoga has also made this declaration.. At the request of the Mayor, this item is included under Council Matters for discussion
and direction regarding whether the Town should make a declaration also. If the Council desires to make a declaration, this item would be placed on a future Council agenda. PREPARED
