and/or State funding fO,f certain Transportatio:p. projects, through the California Department ofTransportation. BACKGROUND: The Town of Los Gatos has applied for several grants to receive
Federal and/or State funding for transportation projects, including the Safe Routes to Schools grants. A 'blanket' resolution was recommended'by the California Department ofTransportation
to enable the Town to use the same resolution for appropriate transportation projects and to enable reimbUrsement for approved projects. DISCUSSION: The Town was recently awarded over
$300,000 in State funding from the 2003 Safe Routes to Schools (SR2S) Grant Program, and has a pending 2004 SR2S grant application for over $150,000. Although resolutions to apply and
receive these funds were approved by Council, the California Department ofTransportation has requested a new Resolution that can be used for these and other similar transportation projects
to clarify that the Town is eligible for Federal and/or State funding and designating the Town Manager as authorized to execute all related agreements. CONCLUSION: Staff recommends that
Council approve the new Resolution that will be used for these and other similar transportation related projects that use Federal and/or State funds. PREPARED BY:

the California Department ofTransportation are provided through reimbursements for approved projects. If matching funds are required, the Town will apply for funding for projects for
which matching local funds are budgeted. In the event that matching funds are not budgeted, staff will seek.approval from the Town Council for matching funds prior to applying for funds

RESOLUTION RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS CONCERNING FEDERAL AND/OR STATE FUNDING FOR CERTAIN TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS THROUGH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
WHEREAS, The Town ofLos Gatos is eligible to receive Federal and/or State funding for certain transportation projects, through the California Department of Transportation; and, WHEREAS,
Master Agreements, Program Supplemental Agreements Fund Exchange Agreements and/or Fund Transfer Agreements need to be executed with the California Department ofTransportation before
such funds could be claimed; and, WHEREAS, the Town wishes to delegate authorization to execute these agreements and any amendments thereto to the Town Manager, Debra J. Figone, be authorized
to execute all Master Agreements, Program Supplemental Agreements, Fund Exchange Agreements, Fund Transfer Agreements and any amendments thereto with the California Department ofTransportation.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: The Town ofLos Gatos demonstrates a commitment to conduct, and to receive Federal and/or State funding for, certain transportation projects
through the California Department ofTransportation. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting ofthe Town Council ofthe Town of Los Gatos held on the day of , 2004 by the following vote:
