Dear Council Members PLANNING DEPARTMENT
The purpose of this email is to arrange a meeting with the council members
to discuss my view of the changes proposed to the Hillside Ordinance, in
particular, to the changes affecting my Vineyard Heights Development on
Foster Rd_ I assume you are aware of the numerous letters which my
attorney, Tom O'Donnell (Ferrari Ottoboni), has sent on my behalf. I have
been following the drafting of this ordinance from its inception and have
attended most of the committee meetings (I have been the only public
attendee at many of these meetings) and all the Planning Commission reviews.
I am very disappointed that l was not able to attend the October 20, 2003
council meeting. Unfortunately, the agenda was mailed to me on the day of
the meeting and I did not receive it until after the meeting took place. I
truly feel that my project's history should be considered in your final
determination of the ordinance changes and I would like to take a few
minutes of your time to present my position to each of you. The development
business often becomes complicated, but my style is to be fair and
consistent to all the parties involved and I believe I have kept to this
standard with this project. I believe my project is an excellent project
for the Town and I feel some of the changes being proposed at this juncture
are unfair relating to the final outcome of my project. I am available to
meet with you at your choice of location; I would like to suggest, if
convenient, meeting on Foster Rd. at the new cul-de-sac so you can see the
lots affected by the proposed changes. I apologize for the last minute
request, but I just found out that the Council will be hearing the ordinance
changes on January 5, 2004. I am contacting all five council members, so if
you would like to combine a meeting with a fellow council member that would
be great.
