SUBJECT: Adopt an Amended Resolution for the California Public Employees’
Retirement System Retirement Plan to Waive the 180-Day Retiree Rehire
Wait Period and to Appoint Paul Horvat as the Temporary Emergency
Services Coordinator in the Town Manager’s Office
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt an Amended Resolution (Attachment 4) for the California Public Employees’ Retirement
System Retirement Plan to waive the 180-day retiree rehire wait period and to appoint Paul
Horvat as the temporary Emergency Services Coordinator in the Town Manager’s Office.
REMARKS:
The September 14, 2023 staff report included a recommendation to rescind Resolution 2023-
047 in addition to adopting an amended resolution. After further coordination with CalPERS, it
was determined that Resolution 2023-047 should not be rescinded. A revised amended
resolution removing the rescission is now included as Attachment 4.
Staff recommends that the Town Council adopt this Amended Resolution (Attachment 4) for
the California Public Employees’ Retirement System Retirement Plan to waive the 180-day
retiree rehire wait period and to appoint Paul Horvat as the temporary Emergency Services
Coordinator in the Town Manager’s Office.
