6-16-15 McCombs VerbalNeighborhood Response to Proposed Project By San Jose Water Company Tuesday, June 16, 2015 The following photographs are intended to provide an overview to the Los Gatos Town Council as to why the Kennedy Road, Kennedy Court, and Forrester Court neighborhoods believe very strongly that San Jose Water Company’s proposed relocation of their existing Teresita Way Pump Station, must be decided by the Town Council rather than at the administrative level, as is currently the case. The project, as currently proposed, would relocate the Teresita Way Pump Station from its present location, where it’s operated successfully for nearly 50 years, to an area designated by the Town of Los Gatos as permanent Open Space. As the photographs will clearly demonstrate, we believe very strongly that this project is much further along than the Town Council has been led to believe, and although we’ve been told otherwise, we are extremely concerned that an independent CEQA analysis of the project may not be required in order to receive approval. Also enclosed, please find our neighbood petition, signed by more than 80 residents and concerned members of our community, many of whom use the Kennedy Loop Walking Trail on a daily basis. As you’ll see, the petition has been signed by residents of our immediate neighborhood, as well as members of our community living outside the immediate area, who often travel a fair distance in order to enjoy the beautiful environment made possible by the Kennedy Loop Walking Trail. It is for these reasons that we respectfully request that the Town Council place this matter on the agenda for an upcoming meeting, in order to receive community input for this project. In addition, we ask that the Town Council please require that this matter be decided by the Council rather than at the administrative level. Thank you very much for helping us to protect our Town’s Open Space, and for continuing to keep the Town of Los Gatos one of the most beautiful and well- respected communities in the country.
