SUBJECT: Adopt a Resolution Denouncing Hatred and Violence Toward Diverse Los
Gatos Communities
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a Resolution (Attachment 1) denouncing hatred and violence toward diverse Los Gatos
communities.
REMARKS:
With the recent rise of hate speech, incidents, and crimes in the Bay Area and nationally, the
Town has an opportunity to express its values of being a welcoming, safe, and inclusive place
for all and denouncing hatred and violence against our diverse communities. Attachment 1
contains a draft resolution affirming the Town’s commitment to the well-being and safety of all
of its diverse communities, including Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC); Asian
American Pacific Islander (AAPI); Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning
Plus (LGBTQ+), and all others.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The adoption of the Resolution has no fiscal impact.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
This is not a project defined under CEQA, and no further action is required.
