The Planning Commission of the Town of Los Gatos conducted a Regular Meeting on
Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at 7:00 p.m.
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present: Chair Tom O'Donnell, Vice Chair D. Michael Kane, Commissioner Mary Badame,
Commissioner Matthew Hudes, and Commissioner Kathryn Janoff.
Absent: Commissioner Kendra Burch, Commissioner Melanie Hanssen

Commissioner Hudes led the Pledge of Allegiance. The audience was invited to participate.

Applicant: Casablanca Teas, LLC
Project Planner: Erin Walters
Requesting approval for a minor restaurant use (Casablanca Teas) on property zoned
C-2.
Commissioner Badame indicated that she would recuse herself from participating in the
public hearing for 155 N. Santa Cruz Avenue, because her business location is within 500 feet
of the subject site.
Joel Paulson, Community Development Director, presented the staff report.
Opened Public Comment.
Linda Reiners
- They are a small business run by a mother and daughter. Specialty tea is a growing market
in the United States. They have done market testing for the past year and are confident
they have a business model that would support a sustainable business.
Kristi Reiners
- They are committed to offering a unique and high-quality experience with three main
focuses: 1) They strive to source from the best tea growing regions; 2) They will offer food
that includes tea as an ingredient or made to complement tea; 3) They will offer several
handcrafted small batch tea blends.
Greg Stowers
- He is the project architect.
Angelia Doerner
- She lives around the corner from the subject site and supports the application.

Commissioners discussed the matter.

N. Santa Cruz Avenue. Seconded by Commissioner Janoff.
VOTE: Motion passed unanimously.
Chair O'Donnell indicated that Commissioner Badame had returned to the meeting.
