As a local long time resident of the College A venue area of Los Gatos I must express my opinion that for the
sake of residents in the area the modification of CUP for Alcohol Service as proposed should be denied.
Since the arrival of Nicks Next Door and the Los Gatos Cigar Shoppe, the residents of the area have had to deal
with a significantly increased level oflate night noise from patrons of both establishments. The patrons of these
facilities are often outside and beyond businl;;:Ss hours and are in very near proximity to nearby residences.
Patrons using the outside patios area can be very loud, consume alcoholic beverages and can be heard to roam
the neighborhood loudly to parking whlle disturbing the area. Neither establishment has responded with much
noticeable improvement to the problem.
I cannot see allowing one of the existing owners of these establishments to open a late night alcohol service to
12 :3 OAM in the same area.( even later than they are allowed in the area now, which already has a history of
problems) This was previously a very quiet comer oftown. Shall it now continue to become a late night
location of Los Gatos? with noisy patrons circulating well into the morning? Some of us need sleep.
I urge the Commission to consider the lives of the residents in this area and deny this application for late night
alcohol service

I've been a resident of Los Gatos for 27 years now and I fully support Nick and all that he does, because he serves the
community in so many amazing ways and shows that they are still all about the customer and a small town. The Raw Bar
would be a much-needed asset to this town and he's the right person to own it and operate it. We often times don't go
to Nick's because of the cigar smoke as it's truly offencive when you're outside.
I think Los Gatos would be well-served to have Nick supporting yet another establishment that puts Los Gatos on the
map as a well-run restaurant that cares I

Commission allow him to proceed with his plans to convert the cigar shop into Nick's Raw Bar. I worked with him

I'd like to send my support for Nicks new restaurant Nicks Raw Bar.
I'm a Los Gatos resident and think this a good plan for four reasons.
1) We've removed an entity that promoted smoking, creating the opportunity to improve health in our community.
2) Los Gatos does not have a raw bar, this increase our local dining selection, and will lead to more local tax receipts and
licensing revenue.
3) It will be run by a proven restauranteur with local roots.
4) It will create a larger downtown social space reducing congestion in current overuse areas that tend to scare away
non local patrons.
Most importantly it gives the town council an opportunity to demonstrate good business acumen, and a decision making
process based in logic and thoughtfulness.
Looking forward to hearing about a positive outcome.

allow Nick Difu to open a Raw Bar with a full liquor license.
As a Los Gatos/Monte Sereno resident since 2002, Nick has consistently set the standard in excellence in Los Gatos
dining that have contributed to putting Los Gatos on the national stage.
I used to turn up at Cafe Marcella most Friday nights for years (I worked in San Francisco) to dinner at the bar if Nick
made it and have followed him across 4 restaurants from Marcella to Wine Cellar to Cafe 180 to his most recently
relocated signature restaurant, Nick's On Main .

Even though I am an occasional cigar smoker, I full support the proposal to grant Nick Dufu and his landlord a change in
the conditional use perm it of the cigar lounge adjacent to Nicks Next door for the opening of Nick's Raw Bar. Nick is a
great asset to this community and his operations support the community on a scale much larger that the cigar
lounge. The one food service that Los Gatos does not have is a quality seafood establishment. I hope the town of LG
recognizes the additional employment opportunities that this new operation will bring to the community as well as
servicing more residents of Los Gatos.

I feel so lucky to have a place like Nick's on Main, and then Next Door, in Los Gatos. Aside from the amazing food, it is
the perfect environment blend of classy, hometown and down to earth. Having a similarly classy, yet comfortable and

Please consider changing the use for the Cigar space to allow Nick Difu to open his Raw bar. He does things right. This
town has many restaurants but not in the caliber that Nick's puts out.
I fully support his venture and hope the Town will as well.
My 2 aunts are driving down today from Atherton to have lunch at Nick's Next door. People travel far to enjoy good
food and it brings more revenue to our town.
