RESOLUTION 2019-
RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
TO APPROVE THE TOWN’S
GREEN STORMWATER INFRASTRUCTURE (GSI) PLAN TO DEMONSTRATE A
LONG-TERM COMMITMENT TO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF GREEN STORMWATER
INFRASTRUCTURE FACILITIES IN THE TOWN
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos is a permittee under the San Francisco Bay Regional
Water Quality Control Board’s Municipal Regional Permit (MRP) that regulates stormwater
discharges from municipal storm drain systems throughout Santa Clara Valley; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos is a member of the Santa Clara Valley Urban Runoff
Pollution Prevention Program (SCVURPPP), and implements the MRP in collaboration with
other members of SCVURPPP; and
WHEREAS, Provision C.3.j of the MRP requires each permittee to develop and
implement a Green Stormwater Infrastructure Plan that demonstrates how permittees will
utilize “Low Impact Development” (LID) measures for a more sustainable storm drain system
comprised of “green” infrastructure, which captures, stores, and treats stormwater using
natural processes and recreates the predevelopment hydrology and landscape features of a
project site; and
WHEREAS, all permittees under the MRP are required to complete and submit a Green
Stormwater Infrastructure Plan to the Regional Water Quality Control Board by September 30,
2019; and
WHEREAS, the attached Green Stormwater Infrastructure Plan guides the identification,
implementation, tracking, and reporting of green stormwater infrastructure projects within the
Town of Los Gatos over a long-term period of time; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos is committed to complying with the requirements of
the MRP as established by the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board, and the
implementation of sustainable approaches and practices within the Town.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos
does hereby adopt the Town of Los Gatos Green Stormwater Infrastructure Plan to achieve a
more sustainable stormwater management system.
