1. What percentage of the operating budget are salary, benefit, and other categories?
The following table represents the General Fund operating budget distribution by categories:
Salary 39.4%
Benefits 20.1%
Operating Expenditures 19.2%
Grant and Awards 0.4%
Debt Service (Library Building and Downtown improvements) 4.5%
Internal Service Charges (equipment and vehicle replacement, etc.) 9.2%
Capital Transfers 7.2%
2. What was the prior proposed sales tax measure ballot language?
To maintain the quality of life and small town character in the Town of Los Gatos by:
fixing potholes, sidewalks and repairing neighborhood and major Town streets;
upgrading town parks, playground equipment and restrooms;
upgrading walking, hiking and bike trails;
beautifying downtown,
maintaining town facilities, and
other essential town facilities and services;
shall the Town of Los Gatos enact an one-half cent sales tax, providing $4,000,000 annually, for
25 years, with annual audits, independent citizen’s oversight, and all funds spent locally?
