RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCI L
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATO S
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGE R
TO EXECUTE THE FOLLOWING DUTIE S
DURING PERIODS OF OFFICIAL TOWN COUNCIL RECESS ,
IN CONSULTATION WITH THE MAYOR :
APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATION S
FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS AND AUTHORIZATIO N
TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS ;
AWARD OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT S
AND CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER S
IN EXCESS OF THE AMOUN T
INCLUDED IN THE CONTINGENCY ;
EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT S
AND AMENDMENTS TO AGREEMENT S
IN EXCESS OF $25,00 0
THAT ORDINARILY REQUIRE COUNCIL APPROVAL .
WHEREAS,the Town Council is taking an official legislative recess fro m
July 16, 2002 to September 2, 2002 and ,
WHEREAS,the Town Council may take official legislative recesses in th e
future and,
WHEREAS,it is possible that issues may arise during official Town Counci l
recesses that would normally require Council approval and ,
WHEREAS,in order to avoid the possibility of critical scheduling delays o r
increased expenses resulting from delays during the official Council recess, the Tow n
Manager should be authorized during official Council recesses to take certain actions ,
in consultation with the Mayor .

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,by the Town Council of the Town of Lo s
Gatos, County of Santa Clara, that the Town Manager is authorized, in consultatio n
with the Mayor, during periods of official Town Council recesses, to :
1.Approve plans and specifications for capital projects and authorize staf f
to advertise for bids .
2.Award construction contracts and construction contract change orders i n
excess of the amount included in the contingency .
3.Execute agreements and amendments to agreements in excess of $25,00 0
that ordinarily require Council approval .
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of th e
Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the l st day of July, 2002 by the following vote :
