SUBJECT: AUTHORIZE THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE A FIVE-YEAR AGREEMENT
FOR SERVICES WITH BAY AREA JANITORIAL FORCE INC., FOR CUSTODIAL
SERVICES IN TOWN FACILITIES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $204,048
ANNUALLY, PLUS A TEN PERCENT CONTINGENCY FOR SPECIAL OR
UNFORESEEN CLEANINGS FOR A TOTAL ANNUAL AMOUNT OF $224,453,
AND A TOTAL AGREEMENT AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,122,265
REMARKS:
The recommended custodial contractor has given last minute notice that they are unable to
deliver on their proposal due to a lack of staffing resources.
As a result of this notice, staff recommends withdrawing this agenda item from consideration.
At the next Town Council meeting, staff will recommend an alternative such as award to the
second low proposer or a contract extension with the current custodial contractor to allow for
the time necessary to issue a new request for proposals.
