Main Street Los Gatos, CA 95030 TIME ITEM ACTION ON ITEM TOWN COUNCIL The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos met in the Council Chambers of the Town of Hall, 110 East Main Street, at 5:45 PM, May 1, 2006, in a study session session. 5:46 PM ROLL CALL Present: Steve Glickman, Joe Pirzynski, Mike Wasserman, and Mayor/Chairman Diane McNutt. Absent: Barbara Spector 5:47 PM PRESENTATION CIVIC CENTER MASTER PLAN Discussion on operational plan, space program, and next steps for Civic Center/Library Master Plan. Staff report made by Pamela Jacobs. Presentation made by Sam McBane Mulford and Pam Anderson Brule, Anderson Brule Architects 6:11 PM COUNCIL COMMENT Questioned how much space other cities of an equivalent size allocate for functions. Questioned current detailed space allocation for individual components. Clarification on composition of the participants in the Charette process. Commented on continuing the outreach program with the community to provide input into the Master Plan. Commented on concerns for adequate parking to be included in the plan. Commented that view sheds are Important. Questioned onsite and offsite usage of space. Questioned regarding the option to not demolish, but reconstruct. Commented on planning for the Civic Center to meet the community needs. 6:36 PM CIVIC CENTER MASTER PLAN Mr. Davis Commented on existing lighting and Town Council May 1, 2006 Study Session Minutes Los Gatos, California E:\uploadedFiles\10965f8f7a2c99cff0132a4324427a3a- a3dc65bec5b2d759\p1d6r10ih11i611f4r1s1c1hpv1trjf.doc 2 of 2 Continued OPEN VERBAL COMMUNICATION suggested including adequate lighting in the master plan. Commented on widening the sidewalks surrounding the Civic Center. Mr. Miller Would like to see the Civic Center reflect the values of the Town. Commented on visiting other cities to see their design and how the design met their needs. Ms. Baum Spoke on behalf of the Library Board and Friends of the Library to thank everyone involved for the work done on the Civic Center/Library Master Plan. 6:42 PM CLOSED VERBAL COMMUNICATION 6:42 PM COUNCIL DISCUSSION Questioned if staff had a “ballpark figure” for the cost of the entire project. Commented that cost modeling would be brought back to Council in late summer or fall. 6:47 PM MEETING ADJOURNED Submitted by: ATTEST: Jackie D.
