Main Street Los Gatos, CA 95030 TIME ITEM ACTION ON ITEM 6:00 PM TOWN COUNCIL The Town Council/Parking Authority/Redevelopment Agency of the Town of Los Gatos met in the Council Chambers of the Town of Hall, 110 East Main Street, at 6:00 PM, December 19, 2005 in a study session. 6:00 PM ATTENDANCE Present: Steve Glickman, Diane McNutt, Joe Pirzynski, Barbara Spector, and Mayor/Chairman Mike Wasserman Absent: None 6:01 PM OPENCLOSE VERBAL COMMUNICATION 6:01 PM DISCUSSION UPDATE ON FISCAL YEAR 2005/06 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM. Update on Fiscal Year 2005/06 Capital Improvement Program. Staff report made by John Curtis. 6:06 PM COUNCIL DISCUSSION COUNCIL MAIN STREET RESURFACING Questioned outreach efforts that will be made to residents and community prior to the start of the project. Commented on not recommending the bulb out on University Avenue due to the traffic circulation. Questioned if the pavement overlay would be done during a week night in the summer and if Main Street would be open during the day. Clarification regarding issues with noise affecting the residents at night. Commented that grinding on Main Street would be done during the day. Questioned if sidewalk work would be done in sections with open access for people to traverse the area. PARKING LOT 5 Questioned the merchants’ opportunity to make modifications or improvements to their back entrances. Commented on outreach and notification to the affected businesses prior to the start of the project. WEDGEWOOD STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENTS Clarification regarding working with the water district and cost sharing for this project. Clarification regarding a new pedestrian strip along Wedgewood Avenue. ROBERTS ROAD BRIDGE Clarification on the two year time frame for completion. Questioned addressing the traffic issues relating to the Festival of Lights until completion of the Roberts Road Bridge project. STREET REPAIR AND RESURFACING PROGRAM Commented on finding the funding to maintaining the road system at the current pavement condition index of 75. Clarification regarding funding options to maintain the Town’s road system. Questioned correlation of the PCI and maintenance costs. Clarification regarding funds and the priority of streets which need repair. Clarification regarding a plan and funding strategy for streets that are in serious despair. SIDEWALK REPAIR AND RESURFACING Commented regarding the 50/50 program and what programs other cities are implementing.
