TOWN COUNCIL
The Town Council/Parking Authority of the Town of Los Gatos met in the Council Chambers of the
Town Hall, 110 East Main Street, at 7:30 p.m., Monday, June 29, 1998, in special session.
ROLL CALL
Present:Randy Attaway, Joanne Benjamin, Steven Blanton,
Jan Hutchins, and Mayor Linda Lubeck.
Absent:None.
CLOSED SESSION
Orry Korb, Town Attorney, reported that Council had met in Closed Session prior to this evening's
meeting pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.6, to Conference with Labor Negotiator. Town
Negotiator (Lead): James W. Piper, Assistant Town Manager/Personnel Officer. Association:
American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). Direction was given to
the Negotiator but no final action was taken.
PROJECT 9615/STREET RESURFACING/CHANGE ORDER/RESOLUTION 1998-97 (01A.35)
Motion by Mr. Attaway, seconded by Mr. Hutchins, that Council adopt Resolution 1998-97 entitled,
RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AUTHORIZING TOWN MANAGER TO
EXECUTE CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER INCREASING THE CONTRACT AMOUNT
AND TO APPROVE BUDGET MODIFICATIONS FOR PROJECT 9615 - STREET
RESURFACING. Carried unanimously.
PROJECT 9615/STREET RESURFACING/ARCHIBALD PAVING/RESOLUTION 1998-98
(01B.35)
Motion by Mr. Attaway, seconded by Mr. Hutchins, that Council adopt Resolution 1998-98 entitled,
RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS ACCEPTING WORK OF C.F.
ARCHIBALD PAVING, INC. - PROJECT 9615 - STREET RESURFACING - AND
AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE CERTIFICATE OF ACCEPTANCE
AND NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR RECORDING BY TOWN CLERK. Carried
unanimously.
COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS
Randy Attaway announced that he had been appointed as Chair of the Mobile Source Committee of
the Bay Area Quality Management District. This committee distributes the Natural Gas Funds and are
looking into the most cost effective projects to eliminate air pollution. They are looking for the most
effective cost per ton applications.
Linda Lubeck asked if there was a Councilmember who could take her place at the West Valley
Mayors' and Managers' lunch meeting on July 22nd.
The League of California Cities Bacci Ball Tournament was reported as successful.
Linda Lubeck noted that the final PG&E facilitated meeting would be held July 2, 1998. This
process will result in a report to the CUPC.

Mayor Lubeck adjourned this evening's meeting at 7:40 p.m.
