TOWN COUNCIL/PARKING AUTHORITY
The Town Council/Parking Authority of the Town of Los Gatos met in the Council Chambers of the
Town Hall, 110 East Main Street, at 5:30 P.M., Wednesday, August 12, 1998, in special meeting.
ATTENDANCE
Present:Randy Attaway, Steven Blanton, Joanne Benjamin,
Jan Hutchins, and Mayor Linda Lubeck.
Absent:None.
GENERAL PLAN UPDATE/COMMUNITY SURVEY (01.20)
Mayor Lubeck stated that this was the time and place duly noted to consider concurring with General
Plan Committee recommendation to conduct a Town-wide community survey.
Council spoke of alternative methods for achieving community building in lieu of the survey.
Participation of the community in forums, charettes, hearings and other methods for involving the
community, should be included in the Task Force discussions.
Motion by Mr. Hutchins, seconded by Mrs. Benjamin, that the Task Force Committee be informed
that the proposed survey will not proceed, but Council will accept proposals by the Task Force as they
move along in their work and they identify areas which would benefit from the application of
resources. Carried unanimously.
COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS
Mr. Attaway asked that a Council alternate take his place at the Emergency Preparedness County
Committee at twelve noon tomorrow. Mr. Hutchins volunteered to attend.
Mr. Attaway asked that candy be included for Council during meetings.
Mrs. Lubeck noted that she attended a meeting hosted by Pacific Bell to discuss the change in the
408 area code which is to be divided November of '99 unless the CPUC decides we can implement 10
digit dialing now.
