TOWN COUNCIL
The Town Council/Parking Authority of the Town of Los Gatos met in the Council Chambers
of the Town Hall, 100 East Main Street, at 7:20 p.m., Tuesday, 1990, in adjourned regular
session.
ROLL CALL
Present:Joanne Benjamin, Eric D. Carlson, Robert L. Hamilton,
Brent N. Ventura and Mayor Thomas J. Ferrito.
Absent:None.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Given by all in attendance.
WASTE MANAGEMENT/RATE STRUCTURE MODIFICATION/HEARING
Mayor Ferrito stated that this was the time and place duly noted for continued consideration
of public hearing regarding Solid Waste Management costs, including consideration of the
modification of the rate structure.
Motion by Mr. Carlson, seconded by Mr. Ventura, that Council adopt the multi-family
recycling program, and that a rate increase of 19.5 percent for the commercial/drop-off box
sector become effective August 1, 1990. Carried by a vote of 4 ayes. Mrs. Benjamin
abstained.
Motion by Mr. Carlson, seconded by Mr. Ventura, that Green Valley, staff, Mr. Carlson
and Mr. Hamilton, meet together in order to work out the basic recycling rates before the
June 18, 1990 Council Meeting. This committee would consider a base rate of $12.00 for
basic service to every household. The services offered for this amount would be curbside
recycling, yard waste pick-up, and one can of general waste. Any other services would be
extra. Carried by a vote of 4 ayes. Mrs. Benjamin abstained.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Ferrito adjourned the meeting at 7:40 p.m. to a study session regarding the 1990-91
proposed capital improvement program.
