TOWN COUNCIL
The Town Council/Parking Authority met in the Council Chambers of Town Hall at 7:00
p.m., in special adjourned regular session.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Thomas J. Ferrito, Robert L. Hamilton, and Mayor Joanne Benjamin.
ABSENT: Eric D. Carlson, and Brent N. Ventura.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Given by all in attendance.
ASSAULT WEAPONS AB 357 RESOLUTION
Mr. Ferrito moved to adopt Resolution No. 1989-26 entitled, RESOLUTION OF THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS SUPPORTING AB 357 (ROOS) BANNING THE
MANUFACTURE, SALE OR POSSESSION OF MILITARY "ASSAULT WEAPONS" IN
CALIFORNIA. Mayor Benjamin seconded. Carried by a vote or 2 ayes. Mr. Hamilton
voted no, stating that there should be stronger legislation. Mr. Carlson and Mr. Ventura
absent.
SB 292 RESOLUTION
Mr. Ferrito moved to adopt Resolution No. 1989-27 entitled, RESOLUTION OF THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS SUPPORTING SB 292 (ROBERTI) BANNING THE
MANUFACTURE, SALE OR POSSESSION OF MILITARY "ASSAULT WEAPONS" IN
CALIFORNIA. Mayor Benjamin seconded. Carried by a vote of 2 ayes. Mr. Hamilton
voted no. Mr. Carlson and Mr. Ventura absent.
ANNEXATION LA RINCONADA #4 HEARING
Mr. Ferrito moved to continue the Public Hearing for the La Rinconada #4 Annexation
until March 6, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Civic Center, 110 East Main
Street, Los Gatos, California. Mr. Hamilton seconded. Carried by a vote of 3 ayes. Mr.
Carlson and Mr. Ventura absent.
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Hamilton moved the meeting be adjourned to a work shop session to review parking
structure, surface lots for Downtown Parking Assessment District, and parking control
device plan alternatives. Mr. Ferrito seconded. Carried by a vote of 3 ayes. Mr. Carlson
and Mr. Ventura absent. Mayor Benjamin declared the meeting adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
