MINUTES
TOWN COUNCIL
The Town Council/Parking Authority of the Town of Los Gatos met in the Council
Chambers of Town Hall, 110 E. Main St., at 7:35 p.m., Monday, March 13, 1989, in
special meeting.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Eric D. Carlson, Brent N. Ventura and Mayor Joanne Benjamin.
ABSENT: Thomas J. Ferrito and Robert L. Hamilton. The record shows that both
councilmembers were absent due to their inability to vote on the only item on the
agenda.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Given by all in attendance.
PROJECT 8805/STORM DRAIN REALIGNMENT/PARKING DISTRICT LOT #3
Mr. Carlson moved that the Council adopt Resolution No. 1989-35, entitled
RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR PROJECT 8805 - DOWNTOWN
PARKING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT LOT #3 AND STORM DRAIN REALIGNMENT,
and authorizing the advertisement of said project. Mr. Ventura seconded. Carried by a
vote of 3 ayes. Mr. Ferrito and Mr. Hamilton abstained due to conflict of interest
VERBAL COMMUNICATIONS
County Supervisor Zoe Lofgren spoke in favor of the Traffic Authority Route 85
conceptualization and against the Los Gatos proposal, enumerating Senate action,
expressway construction, and legal action. Mrs. Lofgren stated that the Traffic Authority
would not accept an agreement from Los Gatos that included freeway access to 85 at
Bascom going north, and she stated that under no circumstances did she think the
Traffic Authority would approve a full interchange at bascom. Councilmembers Ventura
and Carlson, and Mayor Benjamin asked questions of Mrs. Lofgren. Mayor Benjamin
invited
Supervisor Lofgren to meet with Council for informal discussion after the meeting was
adjourned.
ADJOURNMENT
Mr. Carlson moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m. Mr. Ventura seconded. Carried
by a vote of 3 ayes. Mr. Hamilton and Mr. Ferrito absent.
