NOVEMBER 22, 1988
TOWN COUNCIL
The Town Council/Parking Authority met in the Council Chambers of the Town
Hall at 6:10 p.m. in continued regular session.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT:Eric D. Carlson, Brent n. Ventura and Mayor Joanne Benjamin
ABSENT:Thomas J. Ferrito and Robert L. Hamilton.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Given by all in attendance.
PARKING ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
Mayor Benjamin stated the issue before the Council tonight is the adoption of
various Resolutions re the Downtown Parking Assessment District. Town
Manager answered questions of Councilmembers and explained the accounting
procedures. Mr. Jim Farwell, from the audience, presented letter to Council. The
letter expressed their concerns regarding Council's consideration of approval of
the sale of the Parking District Bonds.
Ken Jones of Jones, Hall, Hill & White, bonding attorneys for the Parking District
answered questions of Council regarding letter from J. Farwell and the validity of
the sale of the bonds. Also Speaking from the audience was Celeste Davis,
representing Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, Inc. answered questions of Council
members re the sale of the bonds for said assessment district. There being no
one else wishing to speak. Mr. Carlson moved for the adoption of Resolution No.
1988-221 entitled, A RESOLUTION ORDERING CHANGES AND
MODIFICATIONS. Mr. Ventura seconded. Carried by vote of three ayes, Mr.
Ferrito and Mr. Hamilton were absent. Mr. Carlson moved for the adoption of
Resolution No. 1988-222 entitled, A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE
OF BONDS. Mr. Ventura seconded. Carried by vote of three ayes. Mr. Ferrito
and Mr. Hamilton were absent.
Mr. Carlson moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 1988-223 entitled, A
RESOLUTION AWARDING SALE OF BONDS. Mr. Ventura seconded. Carried
by vote of three ayes. Mr. Ferrito and Mr. Hamilton were absent.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Benjamin declared meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m., to be continued to
Monday, November 28, 1988 at 7:00 p.m.
