M 04-30-84TOWN OF LOS GATOS CALIFORNIA TOWN COUNCIL/PARKING AUTHORITY AGENDA APRIL 30, 1984 TOWN COUNCIL The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos met in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall at 7:40 p.m., in an adjourned regular session. ROLL CALL PRESENT:Joanne Benjamin, Eric D. Carlson, Terrence J. Daily, Brent N. Ventura and Mayor Thomas J. Ferrito. ABSENT:None. MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING TOWN EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION The Town Manager referred to two sections of the Memorandum of Understanding that needs corrections. Page 2, 1. Scope of Representation change "Housing Specialist" to "Community Services Specialist". Page 10, 9(h), seventh line to read, "July 1, 1984, sixty (60) days period shall ...". Bruce Baker, President of the TEA asked for clarification of Page 14, 10(i) regarding Military Leave. The Town Manager stated this relates to the basic pay only, excluding any other allowance. This will be defined and a policy statement will be forthcoming from the Town Manager's office. Renate Bruck, member of the TEA Negotiating Committee, spoke on the comparable worth issue and stated she would like to go on record, stating it is the belief of the Clerical Unit that we are the grease that keeps the machinery of the Town going and we feel it is time the Town recognizes this and has taken a step to recognize the worth and the value the clerical workers contribute to the Town. Mrs. Benjamin moved for adoption, as amended, Resolution No. 1984-63, entitled, A RESOLUTION APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS AND THE TOWN EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION. Mr. Carlson seconded. Carried unanimously. AB-3808 RENTAL HOUSING Discussion was held on AB-3808. Mr. Carlson questioned whether this conflicts with the Town's rent ordinance. After further discussion it was consensus of Council to direct the Town Attorney to research this and report back to Council at their May 7, 1984 meeting. SB-2333 Mayor Ferrito referred to communication from Senator David Roberti regarding SB-2333 and requested this be agendized for the next Council meeting.
