TOWN COUNCIL
The Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos met in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall at
7:30 P.M. in an adjourned regular session.
COUNCIL ATTENDANCE
PRESENT: Joanne Benjamin, Eric D. Carlson, Brent N. Ventura, and Mayor Thomas J. Ferrito.
ABSENT; Terrence J. Daily
CLOSED SESSION REPORT
It was reported that at the Closed Session meeting held prior to the Council meeting, Council
discussed labor relations; Pilger litigation; County litigation and potential litigation.
TOWN CLERK COMPENSATION
Mr. Ventura moved for adoption of Resolution No. 1983-242 entitled, A RESOLUTION OF THE
TOWN COUNCIL AMENDING COMPENSATION FOR THE TOWN CLERK. Mrs.
Benjamin seconded. Carried unanimously.
AMENDMENT TO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS STORAGE ORDINANCE
Mr. Ventura moved for adoption of Ordinance No. 1601 entitled, ORDINANCE AMENDING
CHAPTER 35 OF THE TOWN CODE RELATING TO THE STORAGE OF HAZARDOUS
MATERIALS. Mrs. Benjamin seconded. Carried unanimously.
PROPOSED RATE INCREASE-GENERAL TELEPHONE CO.
Mr. Ventura reported that Council had met with Mr. Oliver of General Telephone Company and
incorporated suggestions in the proposed Resolution. Mr. Bill Oliver, 15900 Los Gatos Blvd.,
Division Manager of the General Telephone Co., spoke on the Companies dedication to improve
the telephone service and how they are working in that direction. Mr. Ventura moved to amend
the proposed Resolution to add to #5,... and no ZUM rates be increased for any zone at this
time.". Mr. Carlson seconded. Carried unanimously.
Mr. Ventura moved for adoption of Resolution No. 1983-243 entitled, A RESOLUTION OF THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS OPPOSING RATE INCREASES PROPOSED BY GENERAL
TELEPHONE COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA, (as amended above). Mr. Carlson seconded.
Carried unanimously.
