SUBJECT: ADOPT AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 OF THE TOWN CODE
ESTABLISHING AN EXPEDITED, STREAMLINED PERMITTING PROCESS FOR
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS, AS REQUIRED BY GOVERNMENT
CODE SECTION 65850.7.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt the Ordinance amending Chapter 6 of the Town Code that was introduced by Council on
September 5, 2017 (Attachment 1).
DISCUSSION:
On September 5, 2017, the Council considered and voted to introduce the Ordinance amending
Chapter 6 of the Town Code establishing an expedited, streamlined permitting process for
electric vehicle charging stations, as required by Government Code Section 65850.7. The
Council introduced the Ordinance as drafted.
CONCLUSION:
Staff recommends that the Council adopt the proposed Ordinance amending Chapter 6 of the
Town Code establishing an expedited, streamlined permitting process for electric vehicle
charging stations.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
It has been determined that there is no possibility that this project will have a significant impact
on the environment; therefore, the project is not subject to the California Environmental
Quality Act [Section 15061 (b)(3)].
