SUBJECT: TOWN COUNCIL AND PLANNING COMMISSION WORKING SESSION
DISCUSSION:
The overall purposes of the Working Session are to:
Clarify roles, relationships, and responsibilities of Town Council, Planning Commission,
and staff;
Foster understanding and explore potential improvements to the appeal process and
clarification on the use/application of the Residential Design Guidelines; and
Receive update on Town’s downtown land use trends, economic development context,
and status of related policy updates
Attached are agenda materials which will be used to facilitate some of the discussions at the
Town Council and Planning Commission Working Session.
Attachment 1 has been provided because clarification of roles, relationships, and
responsibilities of Town Council, Planning Commission, and staff are a topic that will be
emphasized across a number of the items that will be discussed.
During the Working Session, we will be discussing the appeal process and soliciting input on the
current process and suggestions for potential improvements to the process. Attachment 2
contains the regulations that are used by the Town Council for granting an appeal.
Attachment 3 has been provided because neighborhood compatibility is an important topic
contained in the Residential Design Guidelines that is discussed during the review of most
applications and appeals.
