SUBJECT: ACCEPT A CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,200,
AND AUTHORIZE A REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE BUDGET ADJUSTMENT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $7,200 TO RECOGNIZE RECEIPT AND USE OF GRANT FUNDS.
RECOMMENDATION:
Accept a California State Library Grant in the amount of $7,200, and authorize a revenue and
expenditure budget adjustment in the amount of $7,200 to recognize receipt and use of grant
funds.
BACKGROUND:
The Library has been successful in obtaining a $7,200 grant from the California State Library to
purchase technology equipment to use for intergenerational and family programming.
Utilizing these grant funds, the Library will be purchasing basic audio/visual production
equipment, educational robotics kits, and electronics circuit kits that will be used as the basis
for offering Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) themed programs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Expenditures in the amount of $7,200 from account 7801-61172, Library Operating Grants;
Youth Collections, will be offset by grant funding deposited to account 7801-43343, Library
Operating Grants; Grant Revenue.
ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
This is not a project defined under CEQA, and no further action is required.
