Attachment 2ATTACHMENT 2 From: John Shepardson [mailto:shepardsonlaw@me.com] Sent: Monday, September 17, 2018 8:16 PM To: Rob Rennie; Steven Leonardis; BSpector; Marcia Jensen; Marico Sayoc; Laurel Prevetti; Robert Schultz Subject: 9/18/18 Town Council Meeting Mr. Mayor, Council , Town Manager & Town Attorney: My take for your consideration: 1. Closed session TC is between a rock and a hard place. High cost of living for workers and TC strapped by high unfunded liabilities. Unions already bargained a fabulous deal with pensions. TC’s first obligation is to the people of Los Gatos. High wages cuts services elsewhere and reduces monies to cut unfunded liabilities. How to get out of financial hole (before recession)? Raise taxes, cut services, keep wages down—everyone gets a hair cut. 2. Conflict-of-interest—makes sense. 3. Thumbs up. Shop for best consultants. City of Bellevue network with. Cutting edge. Solicit Stanford graduate students to get involved. Traffic relief on Winchester for residents living near Netflix structures. $350K avail per settlement. DATE: TO: FROM: SUBJECT: SEPTEMBER 7, 2018 MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL LAUREL PREVETTI, TOWN MANAGER PROJECT 813-0227 TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODERNIZATION PROJECT 1. ACCEPT A VEHICLE REGISTRATION FEE (VRF) GRANT FROM THE VALLEY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY (VTA) TO UPGRADE TRAFFIC SIGNALS TOWNWIDE. 2. AUTHORIZE THE TOWN MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL FUTURE GRANT DOCUMENTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH VTA. "Online customer sign ups started on August 20 and the responses were very strong. By the August 31 deadline, there were a total of 150 customers signed up for the service. Table 1 shows the customers by route." (Perhaps that 100 cars off the road every day, cool……….) 4. Seems ok. DATE: TO: FROM: SUBJECT: SEPTEMBER 7, 2018 MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL LAUREL PREVETTI, TOWN MANAGER ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FINAL MAP FOR TRACT NUMBER 10441 (NORTH 40 PHASE 1) ACCEPTING THE DEDICATIONS, AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE THE SUBDIVISION IMPROVEMENT AGREEMENT, THE LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT, THE GRANT OF PUBLIC STORM DRAINAGE CONVEYANCE EASEMENT AGREEMENT, AND THE AGREEMENT FOR PRIVATE IMPROVEMENTS IN THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY 5. Bus Program—Bravo! Win, win, win. Recoup as much funds as practically possible from parents and school district(s) to reduce pressure on town budget. Look to Danville model. 6. It is what it is. Tough choices will have be made at some point. I encourage the TC, and the committees and staff to continue to address the issue of unfunded liabilities.
