RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
ADOPTING ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW PROCEDURES
RESOLVED, under provisions of Public Resources Code Sections 21000 et seq
(California Environmental Quality Act of 1970) that the provisions of the State EIR
Guidelines (as amended) are hereby incorporated by reference and adopted as the Town
of Los Gatos procedures for the evaluation of projects and the preparation of
environmental impact reports.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the procedures shown on the attached chart entitled
"'Town's CEQA Process" are established as the procedures for the Town of Los Gatos under
the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act.
FURTHER RESOLVED, this resolution repeals the procedures established by the
previous resolution 1983 -218.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos this 17th day of December, 1990 by the following vote:

When a project is approved with an Environmental Impact Report or Negative Declaration
as required under CEQA, the deciding body shall also adopt a reporting or monitoring
program for the changes to the project or the conditions of approval designed to mitigate
or avoid significant effects on the environment. This program is to be designed to ensure
compliance during project implementation.
The intent of this monitoring and reporting program is to accomplish the following:
Summarize the project impacts determined to be significant or potentially
significant through the Environmental Impact Report or Negative Declaration
process.
Identify the mitigation measures that have been included as conditions of
approval to mitigate each potentially significant impact.
Outline the steps and the schedule for implementation of the required
mitigation measures for monitoring and verification of compliance.
The program shall document:
1. Each significant or potentially significant environmental impact
identified by the Environmental Impact .Report or Negative
Declaration;
2. Each mitigation measure adopted to mitigate or avoid a significant
impact;
3. The monitoring action taken to ensure the mitigation measure is
implemented;
4. Which agency is responsible for ensuring the mitigation measure is
implemented;
5. At what point during project implementation the mitigation measure
is to be employed (prior to issuance of the Building Permit, prior to
occupancy, etc.).
Attached is a sample Mitigation Monitoring Program.
