RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
MODIFYING RATES FOR REFUSE COLLECTION SERVICES
WHEREAS, The Town of Los Gatos has contracted with the Green Valley
Disposal Company, Inc. for the collection of garbage and rubbish in Town; and
WHEREAS, the Green Valley Disposal Company, Inc. has requested a rate
modification for refuse collection services in the Town of Los Gatos; and
WHEREAS, the Interim Town Manager has examined the proposed
modification and determined that it is in fact reasonable; and
WHEREAS, Council has selected the variable can collection option; and
WHEREAS, Council has elected to incorporate the costs for implementation
of a curbside recycling program in the rate base of the residential sector and incorporate
the cost of a multi - family recycling program in the commercial drop -off box sector; and
WHEREAS, Council has elected to allocate the cost of Solid Waste
Management to the residential and commercial /drop -off box sectors;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS
GATOS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The rates for refuse collection services shall be increased in the Town
of Los Gatos effective August 1, 1990 for residential service by 33
percent over rates defined in Resolution 1986 -103; and,

2. The rates for refuse collection services in the Town of Los Gatos for
the commercial and drop -off sectors were raised 19.8 percent from the
rates described in Resolution 1986 -103, by Town Council action on
March S, 1990, to be effective April 1, 1990. Furthermore, rates fort
commercial drop -off sectors increased 26 percent over the rates
effective April 1, 1990, as per Council action June 18, 1990, effective
August 1, 1990.
3. The rates for refuse collection effective August 1, 1990, are attached
as Exhibit A.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 1986 -103 be repealed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 18th day of June, 1990, by the following vote:
