1990-091-Supporting The Santa Clara Open Space Authority November, 1990 Ballot MeasureRESOLUTION 1990 -91 RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS SUPPORTING THE SANTA CLARA OPEN SPACE AUTHORITY NOVEMBER, 1990 BALLOT MEASURE WHEREAS, Santa Clara County is a special place to live, due in large part to its beautiful and productive greenbelt; WHEREAS, a protected Santa Clara County Greenbelt, a large system of protected and productive open space which guides the growth of cities and is essential to the social, economic and environmental well being of the region and its residents; and WHEREAS, a publicly funded Santa Clara Open Space Authority would purchase land in areas potentially threatened for development and maintain them in low- intensity recreational use; and WHEREAS, without a mechanism to purchase land for open space protection, many valuable lands may be developed and Santa Clara County will permanently lose large expanses of its open space; RESOLVED, that the Town Council hereby endorses the Santa Clara County Open Space Authority and its funding on the November 6, 1990 ballot. cher \ord- res \5 -7 #4 PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos held on the 7th day of May, 1990 by the following vote: COUNCIL MEMBERS: AYES: Joanne Benjamin, Eric D.
