RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM TOWN MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH SAFETY SPECIALISTS, INC.
FOR MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND HYDROGEOLOGIST
INVESTIGATION - BILLY JONES RAILROAD
BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos, County of
Santa Clara State of California, enter into an agreement with Safety
Specialists, Inc. for monitoring well installation and hydrogeologist
investigation at Billy Jones Railroad and that the Interim Town Manager is
authorized, and is hereby directed, to execute said agreement in the name and
in behalf of the Town of Los Gatos.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town
of Los Gatos, California, held on the 19th day of March, 1990, by the following
vote:

Dear Mr. LaRocca:
Following our meeting of March 8, 1990 with you and Mr. Bob Bryant, we are
updating and formalizing our proposal for enginering services related to
monitoring an oil spill at the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad site in Oak
Meadow /Vasona Parks, Los Gatos, California.
SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of work has been carefully delineated in a Technical Report
Proposal dated November 27, 1989 (Proposal Number P- 742 -89a), and a Site
Assessment Work Plan Addendum dated January 19, 1990 (Project Number
530135). Copies of these documents are attached. These documents are
hereby incorporated into our Scope of Work by reference. The most current
Site Plan is also enclosed.
The work schedule is included in the Work Plan. Basically, we will require
8 weeks from the date of your Purchase Order to complete the work. If this
does not meet the time constraints imposed by the Santa Clara Valley Water
District, it will be the responsibility of Town of Los Gatos to obtain
any necessary time extensions.
We also request assistance from Town of Los Gatos for the following:
1. As discussed previously, please survey in and establish a benchmark
on the northern side of the manhole rim just northeast of the
maintenance building.
2. Please have your personnel backfill and compact soil in the
existing pit northwest of the maintenance building, to facilitate
our drilling operations in this area.
3. Please move all drums in the yard north of the maintenance
building. They can be moved immediately adjacent to the building.
4. Rather than try to move our drilling equipment through the existing
gate (it is too narrow and too close to the building), please

remove the next section of fencing on the east side of the storage
yard. Also, please arrange for fence replacement after our work is
completed.
5. We will start drilling the most southerly holes first. We would
like to have County Park maintenance people meet with us on the
first day of drilling, so we can show them some brush and tree
limb clearing that is necessary at the northerly monitoring well.
COMPENSATION
The work described in the Work Plans will be performed for a lump sum fee
of $12,500.00. In the event that a change in the Scope of Work is
required, a corresponding change in the project cost shall also be
negotiated. Safety Specialists, Inc., will invoice upon completion of the
project. All invoices are due Net 10 days, upon credit approval.
Agreement
An authorizing signature below represents an agreement for Safety
Specialists, Inc., to perform the services as stated above and acceptance
of the terms herein.
A signed copy of this document and /or your company purchase order must be
received before work will be scheduled.
