RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
RECOGNIZING APRIL 1990 AS
EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS MONTH
WHEREAS, growing scientific evidence points to the high probability of major,
damaging earthquakes in the San Francisco Bay Region in the near future; and,
WHEREAS, the ability of residents of this Town to safely survive and quickly
recover from a major earthquake is dependent on their level of preparedness for an
earthquake; and,
WHEREAS, the Governor of California will proclaim April 1990, as
EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS MONTH throughout the State of California and has
asked that all communities develop preparedness activities to take place that month;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS
GATOS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: that the Mayor of the Town of Los
Gatos recognizes APRIL 1990, as EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS MONTH, calling
upon all Town residents, businesses and government agencies to actively participate in
EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS MONTH, and to prepare for a damaging earthquake
in this Town.
