RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
COMMENDING JOHN LOCHNER FOR BEING NAMED
1989 LOS GATOS CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
WHEREAS JOHN LOCHNER has been named the 1989 Los Gatos Citizen of the
Year: and
WHEREAS JOHN has been a resident of the Town of Los Gatos for 34 years;
and
WHEREAS JOHN'S involvement in community services has been extensive,
including, but not limited to:
Served on Board of Directors and President of the Chamber of
Commerce
Member and President of Los Gatos Lions Club
Organized and was Chairman of the first Fiesta de Artes Wine
Festival
Town Councilmember for 8 years. Mayor for two years.
Associated with Boy Scouts of America as a member of the
Executive Board of the Santa Clara Council, Vice President of
Finance and now President of the Board
Chairman and member of the Los Gatos Athletic Club Charity Golf Classic
Member of the Board of Trustees of the Los Gatos Christmas
Foundation, the fundraising committee for the annual Children's
Christmas Parade held each year on the first Saturday of
December
Created and directed a golf tournament that raised $7,000 for
the Santa Clara Blind Center
WHEREAS JOHN is also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, sings with
the choir, and performs solos faithfully every Sunday. JOHN is very active in
fundraising for St. Mary's, as well as numerous other organizations.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS do deem it
appropriate and do hereby commend JOHN LOCHNER for his many contributions to the
community and people of Los Gatos, and further congratulate JOHN LOCHNER for
being named 1989 Los Gatos Citizen of the Year.

Los Gatos, California, held on the 5th day of June, 1989 by the following vote:
