RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS
APPROVING 1988 AMENDMENT TO THE SANTA CLARA COUNTY
SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN TO INCLUDE THE RECYCLERY
AS A DESIGNATED TRANSFER /PROCESSING FACILITY FOR
MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE
WHEREAS, the Town Council has previously concurred in the principles
and objectives of the Solid Waste Management Plan for Santa Clara County;
and
WHEREAS, the Santa Clara County Intergovernmental Council has
requested that this Town consider amending the plan to include the
recyclery as a designated transfer /processing facility in the Solid Waste
Management Plan for Santa Clara County; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara has
heretofore approved a Negative Declaration under the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) in connection with said proposed
revision, and approved the amendment;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Town of Los Gatos hereby finds and determines as
follows:
1. The Town of Los Gatos as a responsible agency considered the
environmental effects of the proposed amendment as shown in the
Negative Declaration.
2. The 1988 amendment to the Santa Clara County Solid Waste
Management Plan to include the recyclery as a designated
transfer /processing facility for municipal solid waste is
approved.
3. Concurrence in the principles and objectives of the said plan is
reaffirmed.

4. The Town Clerk is directed to forward a certified copy of this
resolution to the IOC Solid Waste Committee for Santa Clara
County, c/o Robert L. Sturdivant, Chief Planning Officer, County
Government Center, 70 West Hedding Street, 7th Floor, East Wing,
San Jose, CA 95110.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the
Town of Los Gatos, California, held on the 6 day of June
1988 by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS Joanne Benjamin, Thomas J. Ferrito, Robert
L. Hamilton, Brent N. Ventura and Major Eric D. Carlson
NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS None
ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS None
ABSENT: COUNCIL MEMBERS None
