RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS PROCLAIMING THE WEEK
OF MAY 23 -29, 1988 AS "FOSTER PARENT APPRECIATION WEEK"
WHEREAS, over 2,400 children in Santa Clara County are provided service
through the foster care system; and
WHEREAS, these children have been seriously traumatized by abuse and
neglect or have been abandoned; and
WHEREAS, children who cannot live with their birth families require the
skill, nurturing and commitment of caring foster parents; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Los Gatos is proud of the many foster families who
have opened their hearts and homes to foster children; and
WHEREAS, these foster parents contribute greatly to the improvement of our
community in meeting the needs of our children; and
WHEREAS, on May 26, 1988, a Foster Parent Recognition Dinner will be held
in honor of all the Santa Clara County foster families that provide care for
foster children.
NOW, THEREFORE, the TOWN OF LOS GATOS does hereby proclaim the week of May
23 -29, 1988 as:
"FOSTER PARENT APPRECIATION WEEK"
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of
Los Gatos, California, held on the 16 day of May 198 8 by the
following vote:
AYES: COUNCIL MEMBERS Joanne BenJamin, Thomas J. Ferrito, Robert
L. Hamilton, Brent N. Ventura and Mayor Eric D. Carlson
NOES: COUNCIL MEMBERS None
ABSTAIN: COUNCIL MEMBERS
