1985-169-Setting A Retention Schedule For Certain Personnel Records, Approving The Destruction Of Such Records Upon The Expiration Of Said RetentionRESOLUTION NO. 1933 -169 RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS SETTING A RETENTION SCHEDULE FOR CERTAIN PERSONNEL RECORDS, APPROVING THE DESTRUCTION OF SUCH RECORDS UPON THE EXPIRATION OF SAID RETENTION WHEREAS The Acting Town Manager has requested that Town personnel file copies of employee time -off records maintained by the personnel section of the Manager's office be retained for a certainperiod of time and then be destroyed or otherwise preserved, according to the retention schedule attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference. WHEREAS The Town Attorney has approved in writing the retention schedule and has consented to the destruction dates hereinafter set forth, said approval attached hereto under "Exhibit A," and incorporated by reference; and WHEREAS: Section 34090 of the California Government Code provides that the head of a city department may destroy any city record, document, instrument, book or paper, etc., under his /her charge, without making a copy thereof, after the same is no longer required, if done with the approval of the city council by resolution and the written consent of the city attorney; IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED: That, in accordance with Section 34090 of the California Government Code, this Council does hereby approve that records retention schedule, and authorizes the destruction of such records after their stated retention period, as set forth in "Exhibit A" attached hereto and incorporated in this Resolution by reference. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos held on the 2n6 day of December 1 1985 by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS Joanne Benjamin, Eric D.
