1985-129-Commending Wesley K. WaltonRESOLUTION NO. 1985 -129 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING WESLEY K. WALTON WHEREAS, WESLEY K. WALTON (LEE) will be retiring from his long -term association with the Los Gatos Union School District on September 1, 1985; and WHEREAS, LEE began his thirty -year association with the Los Gatos school system in 1954, when he joined the faculty at University Avenue School, where he taught history, mathematics, and music until 1958, when he left the field of education to try his hand in the 'private sector' as a general building contractor; and WHEREAS, LEE returned to the Los Gatos school system in 1960, where he remained at Fisher Junior High for the next five years before moving to Lexington Elementary School in 1966, where he combined his service there as Principal with the position of Business Assistant for the Los Gatos Union School District; and WHEREAS, from 1969 to 1975, LEE served as the Business Manager of the Los Gatos Union School District; and WHEREAS, the last ten -year period (from 1975 to the present) saw LEE providing the Town with outstanding service as Superintendent of Los Gatos Union School District; and WHEREAS, LEE WALTON served the Town of Los Gatos in countless other ways -- as a member of the Art Docents of Los Gatos, as a board member and president of the Santa Clara Chorale, and as a board member of the Los Gatos - Saratoga Recreation Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos does hereby commend WESLEY K. WALTON for his significant contributions to the Town of Los Gatos over the past thirty years and for his outstanding service, dedication and devotion to those Town residents he has served; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Council does hereby extend to LEE its hope that his so richly deserved retirement is one of deep satisfaction and personal fulfillment. "la a f OR OF THE TOWN OF �OS GATOS � P,F CIJITIOH NO. 1985-128 RESOLUTION REFERRING TO THE DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COMMITTEE AND THE PLANNING COMMISSION THE APPEAL OF THE DECISION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION DENYING PLANNED DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION FOR AN INDUSTRIAL PROJECT (718 University Avenue- - Guadalupe Rubbish Disposal Company, Inc.) WHEREAS: 1. William A. Cooper, on behalf of appellant Guadalupe Rubbish Disposal Company, Inc., has appealed a decision of the Planning Commission as follows: denial of Zone Change Application Z-84-6 requesting approval to delete an existing Commercial - Industrial Planned Development (LM-PD) zone and to create a new Commercial-Industrial Planned Development (LM-PD) zone to permit the construction of a multi-use facility (research and development, light industrial and office) on property located at 718 University Avenue; and 2. A public hearing was held by Council on August 5, 1985; .1 IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED: 1. The Council finds that the proposal should be referred to the Development Review Committee and the Planning Commission for further review, including a scheduled field trip to the site. 2. The Council further finds that the Planning Commission gave adequate direction to the appellant but that the Development Review Committee should make specific recommendations regarding the level of traffic from the proposed project and the permissible height of the proposed building. 3. Based on the foregoing findings, the appeal is referred to the Development Review Committee and the Planning Commission to consider appellant's zone change application in accordance with this resolution. PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos held on the 19th day of August 19851 by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS Thomas J.
