A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF LOS GATOS ENDORSING APRIL 15 -20
AS EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS WEEK
WHEREAS, growning scientific evidence points to the high probability
of major, damaging earthquakes in the San Francisco Bay Region in the near
future.
WHEREAS, the ability of residents of this Town to safely survive and
quickly recover from a major earthquake is dependent on their level of prepared-
ness for an earthquake; and
WHEREAS, the Governor of California will proclaim April 15 -20, 1985,
EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS WEEK throughout the State of California and has asked
that all communities develop preparedness activities to take place during that
week:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor of the Town of Los
Gatos endorses Earthquake Preparedness Week, calling upon all town residents,
businesses and government agencies to actively participate in Earthquake
Preparedness Week 1985 and to prepare for a damaging earthquake in this town.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOS GATOS,
CALIFORNIA, at a regular meeting held this 8th day of April 1985,
by the following vote:
